By popular demand, the first exhibition in Friuli Venezia Giulia dedicated to one of the most extraordinary and moving artists of the twentieth century, Antonio Ligabue, has been extended until June 30.

With over 60 works including oils, drawings, and sculptures, the narrative of the life and work of a man who made his art the redemption of his own existence continues at the Revoltella Museum in Trieste.

Antonio Ligabue, one of the most humane and touching Italian artists of the twentieth century, with his tumultuous life, excluded from the rest of his people, deeply connected to the natural and animal world and far from the judgment of others, managed to imprint his creative genius on canvas; a man so mad and unique that with his expressionist harshness still manages to penetrate the souls of those who admire his works today.

The exhibition “Antonio Ligabue,” promoted and organized by the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Culture and Tourism Policies, with the support of the Trieste Convention and Visitors Bureau and PromoTurismo FVG, is produced by Arthemisia in collaboration with the Municipality of Gualtieri and the Antonio Ligabue Museum Foundation.

The exhibition, with Ricola as its special partner, is part of the project “The Art of Solidarity” realized by Arthemisia with Komen Italia, the charity partner of the exhibition.

Furthermore, starting from February 22, the Municipality of Trieste and Arthemisia will present an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the most beloved artist of all time, Vincent van Gogh, at the Revoltella Museum. The one presented in Trieste is the so-called “record-breaking exhibition,” visited by 600,000 visitors in a few months in Rome, curated by Maria Teresa Benedetti and Francesca Villanti, and features a selection of over 50 works from the prestigious Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, which houses one of the largest collections of the artist’s works.
