Van Gogh exhibition at the Revoltella museum brings together 50 works from the Kroller-Muller Museum in the Netherlands and two portraits from the Modern Art Gallery in Rome: “The Gardener” and “The Arles Woman,” Joseph Michel Ginoux’s wife – another portrait gracing the exhibit, reunited for this occasion. Dubbed the “record-breaking exhibition” for drawing over 600,000 attendees in Rome.
When you hear the name Vincent Van Gogh, images of starry skies, sunflowers, and self-portraits – some missing an ear – likely flood your mind. Yet, there’s so much more to Van Gogh, and that’s precisely what visitors are discovering at the latest exhibition unveiled at the Revoltella Museum in Trieste, running from 22 February until June 30th.
The voyage begins with somber tones, ochres, and grays depicting the Dutch countryside, only to burst into the radiant French period, with bundles of straw drying under the sun and captivating portraits. Each canvas narrates a tale of emotions; Van Gogh possessed an unparalleled gift – the ability to paint the soul of landscapes, places, and faces he chose. A man both fragile and profound.
The admission tickets: €17.50 for adults and €15.50 for reduced tickets.
