On Wednesday, February 28th at 11 am, the Diego de Henriquez Civic War and Peace Museum (4 Tominz Street) will host the final free guided tour of the exhibition “The Bathyscaphe ‘Trieste’: Auguste Piccard’s Project, Diego’s Dream.”

Museum curator Antonella Cosenzi will regale visitors with the extraordinary feats of the bathyscaphe “Trieste,” designed by Swiss scientists Auguste and Jacques Piccard. Especially in its early stages, Diego de Henriquez’s collaboration, support, and friendship were instrumental in the underwater vessel’s development. Thanks to him, the name of the Julian capital is still inseparably linked to one of the planet’s most remarkable scientific and exploratory adventures.

The exhibition, accessible with museum admission, will remain open until Sunday, March 3, 2024.
