After airing on Sky last July, the episode of “Bruno Barbieri – 4 hotels” dedicated to Carnia will be broadcast on TV8 in the new and exciting episode on Monday, March 4th at 9:30 PM.
The scattered hotel and its philosophy of hospitality, along with the territory and its treasures to discover, will be the true protagonists of the episode, produced by Sky Original, realized by Banijay Italia, and supported by PromoTurismoFVG. The episode will feature a competition among the scattered hotels: Borgo Soandri in Sutrio, Comeglians, Sauris, and Zoncolan in Ovaro.
This form of accommodation, focused on social and environmental sustainability and born precisely in Carnia, has increasingly gained success over time, spreading to various mountain villages in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The scattered hotel involves accommodating guests in renovated typical houses respecting the original architectural standards and is characterized by a unified management system for all structures for booking, reception, and hospitality.
In Monday’s episode, hospitality expert Bruno Barbieri, besides leading the competition among the four challengers and reviewing the four structures representing the scattered hotel concept, will have the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of the territory from a historical, cultural, and sports perspective. In Sauris, recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as one of the “Best Tourism Villages,” he will discover the historical tradition of Carnival, meeting two key characters: the Rölar, covered in soot and equipped with noisy cowbells, and the Kheirar, armed with a large broom, as well as indulging in a moment of relaxation at the scattered hotel’s wellness center.
Moving towards Ovaro, at the foot of Mount Zoncolan, the chef will try to uncover the secret recipe of cjarsons before visiting the former coal mine of Cludinico. In Comeglians, the birthplace of Leonardo Zanier, a Friulian poet and writer considered the founding father of the “scattered hotel” formula, the art of carpet-making with the unique hand-tufting technique will engage and intrigue the chef before delving into Palazzo de Gleria, the only example of Venetian villa in the Carnic territory.
Lastly, in Sutrio, a small village and cradle of woodworking craftsmanship, Carnia will showcase its talent in the art of carving and organize a treasure hunt through the streets of the village before proclaiming the winner of the challenge among the four hotels in the picturesque Piazza XX Settembre in Tolmezzo: for those who already know it, it will be a journey through the beauties of the Friulian mountains, this time in prime time on national television.
