Protests Spread from Pisa to Trieste: Demands for Reform and Solidarity Amplify

The wave of protests following the demonstration in Pisa, which escalated into clashes with law enforcement, has also reached Trieste. Around a hundred people, the vast majority of them young, gathered in front of the Prefecture late Friday afternoon, March 1, demanding the ‘immediate resignation of Interior Minister Piantedosi’ and ‘the use of identification codes by the Police,’ chanting ‘enough batons on students.’ They also reiterated support for the Palestinian cause ‘for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza’ and pointed fingers at ‘the Italian government as a Zionist accomplice to genocide.
