Starting on Monday, March 11, the implementation of the second phase of projects funded by the PNRR, focusing on cycling mobility, will commence. The initiative is set to impact the block adjacent to Piazza Foraggi, extending towards Piazza Garibaldi.

The Municipality of Trieste has officially announced the initiation of works outlined under the project titled “PNRR_M2C2_I4.1 – Interventions for cycling mobility in the municipality of Trieste – PNRR funding – Lot 2,” scheduled to kick off on the aforementioned date.

Site preparations are scheduled to be carried out during the week of March 11-15.

The construction site is slated to remain active for a duration of 11 months, with a systematic approach targeting individual blocks. Operations will commence from the block adjoining Piazza Foraggi, progressively advancing towards Piazza Garibaldi. Each block is expected to host the construction site for approximately one and a half to two months, after which it will be cleared for work to proceed on the subsequent block.

Throughout the construction period, full access to buildings and commercial premises will be ensured.

The intervention plan primarily focuses on the even-numbered civic side, encompassing activities such as reshaping and elevating perimeter curbs, demolition and reconstruction of asphalted sidewalks with draining concrete pavement, including the refurbishment of tree housing basins, as well as the installation of horizontal and vertical road signage, along with parking deterrents like barriers and pedestrian bollards.
