In the beautiful halls of the Sartorio Museum in Trieste, a musical prodigy from Croatia is poised to captivate audiences with his virtuosic performance. Ivan Petrović – Poljak, born in 2004, is expected to enchant listeners with his mastery of the piano this Sunday afternoon, weaving a mesmerizing tapestry of sound that will leave spectators spellbound.

Presented as part of the “Super Green Talents at Sartorio” series, curated by the Chamber Music Trieste Association, Petrović – Poljak’s concert bears the thematic thread of “The Young Virtuoso.” Under the guidance of artistic director Chamber Music Fedra Florit, the event is set to unfold in seamless harmony, thanks in part to the support of the ZKB Trieste Gorizia bank and the collaboration of Glasbena Matica.

Stepping onto the stage today at 5 p.m., Petrović – Poljak will embark on a musical journey that will traverse the daring compositions of Franz Liszt and Franz Schubert – Franz Liszt. From the ethereal melodies of Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz no.1 S.514 to the haunting strains of Schubert’s Ständchen S.558, Petrović – Poljak’s performance is expected to be a tour de force of technical brilliance and emotional depth.

But Petrović – Poljak’s ascent to musical stardom did not happen overnight. Born in Croatia, he began his piano studies at the tender age of 8, honing his craft under the tutelage of Olga Cinkoburova at the Vatroslav Lisinski Middle School of Music in Zagreb. His dedication and talent soon caught the attention of maestro Ruben Dalibaltayan, under whose mentorship Petrović – Poljak continued to flourish.

His accolades are as numerous as they are impressive. From winning the “EPTA Croatia International Competition” to receiving the prestigious Liszt-Bartok Piano Competition in Sofia, Petrović – Poljak’s star has been on a meteoric rise. And as he graces the stage in Trieste today, captivating hearts with each delicate keystroke, it becomes abundantly clear that his musical journey is only just beginning.

As the echoes of his final notes fade into the hushed reverence of the audience, one thing is certain: Ivan Petrović – Poljak will have left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Trieste, his name destined to be whispered in reverent tones for years to come.
