In the realm of international relations, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region is actively engaging in discussions with states that share striking similarities in both manufacturing and logistics. Governor Fedriga emphasizes, “Diplomacy is our tool to fortify ties with these regions and create robust institutional collaboration networks for mutual benefit.”

“The partnership with the United States is in continuous development, as we can see from the investments in our region, from the basketball to soccer teams,” said governor Massimiliano Fedriga.

The Conference of Italian Regions is strategically involved, laying the groundwork for new political agreements. Fedriga states, “Our goal is to foster enduring connections across various sectors, providing a catalyst for sustained growth opportunities.”

In a recent convivial meeting, Governor Fedriga, alongside Ambassador Markell and Consul Benning, highlighted the enduring relations between the United States and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Notably, attention was drawn to the historic Aviano air base, a pivotal hub for the United States Air Force (USAF). Fedriga emphasized, “The integration of base personnel with the Aviano community is an exceptional experience we aim to preserve and enhance over time.”

Against the backdrop of evolving international scenarios, Governor Fedriga stresses the strategic imperative of elevating collaboration with Western democracies, historical partners, and NATO. He asserts, “Our aim is to contribute to enhanced global stability and security.”

In a significant transatlantic maneuver, Governor Massimiliano Fedriga is poised to lead a high-profile delegation on its fifth diplomatic venture to the United States, spanning from 2022 to the present day, scheduled from April 15th to 19th.

This transoceanic resurgence carries particular weight, as this year sees Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) honored as the “Region of Honor.” Annually, the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) partners with an Italian region to showcase its cultural richness and investment allure in the United States. Following Emilia-Romagna’s spotlight in 2023, the mantle now falls upon Friuli Venezia Giulia.

This strategic move underscores the aftermath of last October’s visit, where Governor Fedriga unexpectedly crossed paths with President Joe Biden at the illustrious Italian American gala marking NIAF’s 48th anniversary. During this encounter, Fedriga extended a cordial invitation for President Biden to explore the enchanting landscapes of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Amidst the backdrop of this diplomatic endeavor lies a meticulously crafted agenda, brimming with a flurry of institutional and economic rendezvous. The pinnacle of this diplomatic choreography promises a rendezvous with Virginia Governor Glenn Allen Youngkin, solidifying ties across the Atlantic with each strategic step.

United States has also recently been revealed as one of the biggest players on the investment scene in our region, making it clear that the collaboration between two nations is poised for a long-term success.
