Learners Invited to Explore New Skills at ICTP Scientific FabLab

In celebration of Arduino International Day 2024, the ICTP Scientific FabLab is thrilled to extend a special invitation to budding students and makers alike. Join us for a hands-on workshop tailored for beginners, where you’ll delve into the assembly and programming of dynamic electronic circuits using the Arduino microcontroller board, complete with sensors and actuators.

Given our limited capacity of 25 participants, we kindly request that you secure your spot in advance by contacting us via email at scifablab@ictp.it.

This event, conducted in English, welcomes attendees of all backgrounds and is free of charge, including those outside the ICTP community (minimum age requirement: 16 years old).

Event Details:

  • Venue: ICTP SciFabLab, located at via Beirut 6 (ICTP Campus, Miramare, E. Fermi Building, lower level)

Pre-Event Schedule:

  • Guided FabLab Tour: 16:00 – 17:00
    • Explore our facilities with a guided tour featuring demonstrations of our lasercutters and 3D printers. Engage in discussions about fablabs and digital fabrication. (No registration required for the tour.)

“Arduino 101” Workshop: 17:00-19:00

  • Maximum Participants: 25 individuals

Workshop Agenda:

  • 17:00: Introduction to the Arduino platform and its alternatives. Discover the new GIGA R1 WiFi board, explore exemplary projects utilizing Arduino boards, and learn about Arduino IDE and programming options for the Arduino Uno board. (Conducted by M. Baruzzo).
  • 17:45 – 19:00: Dive into the Arduino Starter Kit designed for absolute beginners. Experience hands-on demonstrations with the Arduino Uno under the expert guidance of G. Fior.
