In a celebration of creativity and community, the Portopiccolo Art Gallery in Sistiana will unveil its latest exhibition titled “Spring” on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The opening reception, to be held at 7:00 PM, will mark the beginning of a showcase that promises to immerse patrons in the vibrant colors and themes of the season.

Curated in collaboration with Casa C.A.V.E., Circolo Duinate / Primavera al Castello, and the Municipality of Duino Aurisina – Devin Nabrezina, “Spring” will trace its origins to the enchanting setting of Duino Castle, where artists will gather for two days as part of the fifteenth edition of Primavera al Castello – artists en plein air.

The transition from the historic castle to the modern confines of Portopiccolo Art Gallery will symbolize the fusion of tradition and innovation within the art world. According to Fabiola Faidiga, one of the members of the artistic committee, the exhibition will aim to capture the essence of contemporary artistic expression while paying homage to the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Featuring a diverse selection of works from both established and emerging talents, “Spring” will invite viewers on a journey of discovery. From the ethereal landscapes of Nadia Bencic to the bold abstractions of Nicola Santini, each piece will reflect the unique perspective and vision of its creator.

Notable highlights will include paintings by Luisia Comelli Luìs, Marisa Ferluga, and Angela Romita, whose mastery of color and form will transport audiences to realms both familiar and fantastical. Additionally, the inclusion of works from the United World College of the Adriatic will add an international dimension to the exhibition, showcasing the global reach of artistic expression.

Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition free of charge until May 5, with opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Private viewings can also be arranged by appointment, underscoring the gallery’s commitment to providing a personalized and immersive experience for art enthusiasts.

As patrons wander through the halls of Portopiccolo Art Gallery, they will not merely be spectators but active participants in a dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation. “Spring” will serve as a testament to the transformative power of art, offering solace, inspiration, and a glimpse of the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
