The inaugural ceremony will showcase the mesmerizing exhibition “Forrest” by acclaimed artist Opher Thomson, in collaboration with Massimiliano Schiozzi, an event meticulously curated by Cizerouno. “Forrest,” an artistic odyssey, grapples with the profound question, “Where is home?” Through Thomson’s lens, home emerges as a poignant absence, prompting introspection and exploration into the essence of belonging. As visitors traverse the immersive exhibit, they embark on a soul-stirring journey, resonating with the echoes of displacement and yearning.

Sunday, April 28th, heralds an intellectually stimulating discourse at the historic Antico Caffè San Marco on via C. Battisti 18. Titled “Our Bread: Ancient Grains, Flours, and Other Lies,” the event promises a captivating dialogue between renowned author Luigi Cattivelli and Stefano Minin, the esteemed Head of Institutional Relations at Coop Alleanza 3.0. Cattivelli, a luminary in the field of genomics and bioinformatics, unravels the enigma of wheat, elucidating its intrinsic value and strategic significance for humanity’s future.

The festival’s momentum crescendos on Monday, April 29th, with an evocative discussion titled “Saving Animals, Saving Ourselves.” Esteemed philosopher Jeff Sebo, in virtual conversation with Alessandro Tavecchio, delves into the ethical imperative of preserving our planet’s biodiversity. Sebo’s seminal work, “Saving Animals, Saving Ourselves,” serves as a beacon, illuminating the interconnectedness between environmental stewardship and human welfare.

As twilight descends upon the picturesque cityscape of Trieste, Knulp Bar, nestled along viale Madonna del Mare 7°, sets the stage for an enchanting soirée titled “Songs of Birth.” Opher Thomson’s ethereal compositions intertwine with the ambiance, evoking a symphony of emotions that transcend boundaries and beckon the soul to ponder the essence of existence.

From April 27th to May 5th, Triestebookfest unfurls its tapestry of cultural riches, weaving together diverse voices and narratives in celebration of the human spirit. Organized by the Triestebookfest Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste, and generously supported by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Casali Foundations, and the CRTrieste Foundation, the festival embodies the transformative power of literature and art in shaping our collective consciousness.
