As the summer months approach, the picturesque waterfront of Barcola is abuzz with activity as renovation works are underway, promising a rejuvenated seaside experience for locals and tourists alike.

Scheduled for a May reopening, the lush green areas along the waterfront will once again welcome visitors, offering a serene backdrop for leisurely strolls and seaside picnics. However, amidst the tranquil setting, the hum of construction persists, with workers diligently tending to the promenade. Even during the bustling summer season, their efforts will continue, ensuring that the iconic stretch remains pristine for all to enjoy. It is anticipated that the charming kiosks dotting the promenade will resume operations by June, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of Barcola’s seaside scene.

Further along the coast, the railway beach facility is slated for renovation, set to commence in late May and spanning a projected duration of 60 days. With an estimated cost of 150 thousand euros, the restoration endeavor aims to revitalize the beachfront, offering an enhanced recreational space for sun-seekers and beach enthusiasts. Nearby, the Cral facility stands in line for refurbishment, though the timeline for these works remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, at the Sticco facility, nestled beyond reach by car and requiring a detour to Miramare junction, ongoing renovations are poised to transform the site into a renewed waterfront gem, accessible to all.

In the neighboring Grignano area, signs of renewal are palpable. Grignano 2 is poised to welcome patrons at the onset of favorable weather conditions in May. Despite facing destruction to its bar and amenities, the establishment has already made significant strides in restoration efforts, awaiting only the green light to resume operations.

Across the way, Grignano 1 prepares for a June 1st reopening, with extensive repair works underway to address damages totaling 300 thousand euros. As discussions ensue on funding allocations, the community grapples with the aftermath of the devastating loss of 30 beach huts, pondering strategies to mitigate future risks posed by coastal erosion and rising tides.

In Muggia, anticipation builds for the upcoming season, as efforts intensify to restore the coastal area ravaged by recent storms. While public facilities have incurred minor damages, preparations are well underway to ensure a seamless transition into the summer months, offering residents and visitors alike a renewed appreciation for the splendor of Barcola’s waterfront oasis.
