Residents of Trieste will soon see adjustments to their public transportation system, with modifications to routes and schedules set to take effect starting May 2nd.
One notable change is the restoration of regular schedules for Line 64, which runs between Piazza Tommaseo and Opicina. Additionally, the route will be extended to include a stop at the Fernetti retirement home, introducing enhanced accessibility for residents.
In response to evolving commuter needs, Line 51, linking Piazza della Libertà with the Eastern Plateau and the Basovizza and Padriciano campuses at Area Science Park, will introduce two new express services departing from Piazza della Libertà at 8:23 and 8:37. These services aim to streamline travel for commuters to Basovizza and Padriciano, omitting certain stops along the way to prioritize efficiency.
Meanwhile, Line 36, connecting the Miramare junction with Via Giulia at Largo Tomizza, is poised to resume service. Initially operating exclusively on weekends until the summer timetable kicks in on June 10th, the line will subsequently run daily. Notably, the service will be facilitated by buses accommodating up to 150 passengers, ensuring ample capacity for Trieste’s transit needs.
