In a captivating display of remembrance and celebration, the picturesque city of Trieste adorned itself in a hue of Blue Balestra on the night bridging the 3rd and 4th of May 2024. The occasion? A poignant homage to the Maestro of Italian Couture, whose profound influence continues to resonate despite his passing on November 26, 2022, marking the centenary of his birth.

Collaborating closely with the esteemed Balestra family, Trieste spared no effort in paying homage to a luminary whose legacy remains synonymous with the essence of Made in Italy. The focal points of this tribute were the Neptune Fountain and Urban Center, both bathed in the ethereal glow of Blue Balestra, casting a spellbinding ambiance across the city.

As the illuminated waters danced under the moonlit sky, a select gathering of around ten individuals, including the Balestra family and close associates, congregated around the Neptune Fountain. Notable among them were Dizzi Alfons, the proprietor of Sacher’s, and Serena Tonel, the Deputy Mayor of Trieste, who joined in the reverie.

Embodying the spirit of the evening, Alda Balestra, the niece of the revered Maestro, graced the gathering resplendent in Balestra Blue, a fitting tribute to her uncle’s indelible mark on the world of fashion.

With glasses raised in a toast to the designer’s enduring legacy, the gathering echoed with jubilant cheers, punctuating the night with a heartfelt celebration of the Maestro’s 100th birthday. Amidst the twinkling lights and shared memories, Trieste stood as a beacon of homage, honoring a titan of Italian couture whose influence continues to inspire generations.”
