In the midst of the MAREinFVG festival, extending its activities until Sunday, May 19th, Barcola embraced yet another engaging event on this radiant Sunday afternoon, characterized by balmy temperatures reminiscent of summer’s embrace.

Under the theme “Beachside with Our Canine Companions,” the focus sharpened on issues surrounding dogs’ presence along the coastline and the imperative etiquettes for harmonious cohabitation, respecting the needs of both beachgoers and their four-legged friends. Conversations delved into safeguarding dogs during the summer months as temperatures soar, urging vigilance towards ground temperatures to prevent paw burns.

The gathering, orchestrated by UCiO – Operational Canine Units FVG, featured a knowledgeable veterinarian, offering invaluable insights devoid of banality. He underscored dogs’ resilience within temperatures ranging from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius, advocating for ample hydration and a retreat to cool, well-ventilated spaces, recognizing their reliance on panting to regulate body heat.

As the spotlight shifted to the showcase of five rescue canines executing water-based demonstrations with an array of life-saving apparatus, the collective enthusiasm of children, adults, and beach dwellers surged appreciably. Witnessing the graceful prowess of these canines in aquatic environments underscored the indispensable role of canine units in bolstering human-led rescue endeavors.
