In a heartwarming display of community engagement, the young students of Rossetti Primary School in Trieste have taken an active role in shaping the future of Miramare Castle Park. Their efforts were showcased during the inauguration of the nursery in the park’s elevated precinct known as “Massimiliano’s Gardens,” a tribute to Archduke Maximilian of Austria.
Guided by the spirit of preservation and stewardship, these children diligently assisted in planting shrubs nurtured from the seeds of trees envisioned by Maximilian himself over 160 years ago. Their hands-on involvement underscores a deep-seated commitment to safeguarding the park’s rich botanical heritage for generations to come.
Maximilian’s ambitious vision transcended borders, seeking flora from every corner of the globe. Reflecting this ethos, students from the United World College were also enlisted to play a pivotal role in cultivating the park’s future landscape.
