In a celebration of art, culture, and entertainment, Trieste unveils its spectacular summer festival lineup, promising an unparalleled experience for locals and tourists alike. Boasting over 260 events across 40 diverse locations, this year’s festival promises to surpass all expectations, setting a new record of engagement and excitement.
From June 6th to September 18th, the city will come alive with a vibrant tapestry of performances, exhibitions, and showcases, spanning 101 days of pure entertainment. With more than 80 events specifically curated for the neighborhoods, including the renowned “Fuoricentro” festival, Trieste aims to captivate audiences with its rich cultural heritage and dynamic atmosphere.
At the historic San Giusto Castle, theater enthusiasts will be treated to grand productions including Puccini’s “Turandot” and the Operetta Festival, while jazz aficionados can revel in the sounds of world-class performers at the Trieste Loves Jazz showcase. From classical symphonies to pulsating rock concerts, the castle will resonate with the melodies of renowned national and international artists throughout the summer.
But the cultural extravaganza doesn’t stop there. The Sartorio Theater will host a myriad of theatrical performances, from Shakespearean classics to contemporary dramas, catering to all tastes and preferences. Meanwhile, the streets of Trieste will come alive with circus performances, dance spectacles, and cinema screenings, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Behind the scenes, the festival is a testament to collaboration and dedication. Organized by the Municipality of Trieste with support from various partners, including PromoTurismoFVG and the Trieste Convention & Visitors Bureau, the event has been meticulously curated to showcase the city’s cultural richness and artistic diversity.
Speaking about the festival, Gabriele Centis, the artistic director for musical events, emphasized its international appeal, stating, “The event aims to offer an offer in terms of content and organization from an international perspective, to also address an audience of tourists from all over the world.” His sentiments were echoed by Lino Marrazzo, the artistic director for theatrical performances, who noted the festival’s remarkable growth over the years.
