The Municipality of Trieste has announced a series of temporary traffic measures to facilitate the filming of the upcoming movie “Il bianco si lava a novanta.” The restrictions, outlined in Ordinance No. 614-24 issued on June 11, 2024, will impact the heart of the city’s bustling traffic over the weekend.

From 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15th, until midnight on Sunday, June 16th, parking and stopping along a 90-meter stretch of Via Mazzini will be strictly prohibited. The affected section lies between the intersections with Via San Spiridione and Via Dante Alighieri, exclusively on the odd-numbered side of the street. Any vehicles found in violation will be removed.

Further tightening the controls, the municipality will enforce a temporary suspension of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Sunday, June 16th, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. This suspension will be managed by traffic controllers and local police officers, operating on a “stop and go” basis with interruptions lasting no longer than five minutes. The impacted stretch remains the same: Via Mazzini between Via San Spiridione and Via Dante Alighieri.

Despite these stringent measures, allowances have been made for emergency service vehicles and personnel, law enforcement, and those directly involved in the movie’s production. Authorized vehicles and staff will be granted access to Via Mazzini between Via Roma and Via Matteo Renato Imbriani.

Local authorities have indicated that any further modifications or additional measures required for the smooth conduct of the filming will be at the discretion of the on-site police officers and law enforcement officials.

As Trieste’s vibrant streets transform into a film set, the local government is urging residents and visitors alike to plan their travels accordingly and to respect the temporary regulations designed to accommodate the cinematic endeavor.
