In an announcement that promises to dazzle and delight, Cirque du Soleil has confirmed that it will bring its celebrated production “Alegría – In A New Light” to Trieste next year.
The Trieste stop is scheduled to run from June 13 to July 13, 2025. The production, which has captivated audiences worldwide, is set to transform the city’s cultural landscape during its month-long engagement. “Alegría – In A New Light” is a reimagining of one of Cirque du Soleil’s most beloved shows, promising a fresh take on its classic themes of resilience and hope.
This announcement marks a significant cultural milestone for Trieste, aligning with the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance its reputation as a vibrant hub for the arts. The upcoming performances are expected to boost the local economy by attracting a wide array of visitors, thereby supporting local businesses and cultural institutions.
Governor Fedriga, alongside regional tourism councillor Bini, Teatro Rossetti President Francesco Granbassi, and Deputy Mayor Tonel, celebrated the arrival of the Cirque du Soleil event.
Governor Fedriga praised Teatro Rossetti and the Municipality of Trieste for securing the show, noting that other stops include only Rome and Milan. He emphasized that this major event aligns with the administration’s goal of attracting numerous tourists to the region, highlighting its value and beauty. “We are witnessing consistent growth in arrivals,” he noted.
The exact location for the show within the city is yet to be determined, with five options under consideration by the Municipality and Teatro Rossetti. However, the economic impact is already estimated at around 700,000 euros, generated by the extended stay of the entire production team in Trieste for the setup and performance period.
