The Municipality of Trieste has announced that the exhibition “1924-2024: A Century of History of the University of Trieste. Images and Documents,” currently housed in the Bastione Fiorito of the San Giusto Castle, will be temporarily closed to the public from July 1 to August 7.

The closure, necessitated by organizational requirements tied to the “Trieste Estate 2024” festival, will interrupt the display’s celebration of the University of Trieste’s centennial. However, in a gesture of accommodation to eager visitors and historians alike, the exhibition will reopen on August 8, coinciding with the university’s founding anniversary. The run will extend until November 10, surpassing its initially planned schedule.

Curated with meticulous attention to the academic institution’s legacy, the exhibition offers a rich tapestry of photographs and documents chronicling a century of educational and cultural contributions. This temporary halt will allow the bustling festival’s events to unfold seamlessly within the historic castle’s environs.

Jointly realized by the University of Trieste and the Municipality of Trieste, with substantial backing from the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the exhibition stands as a testament to the enduring significance of the university in the region’s social and academic landscape.
