Despite a relentless summer heatwave gripping much of Europe, residents and visitors in Trieste found ways to savor the weekend. The historic Piazza Unità d’Italia thrummed with activity as families sought refuge in shaded cafés, indulging in gelato and espresso.

Along the picturesque waterfront, locals and tourists alike took to the Adriatic Sea, where sailing and swimming offered a refreshing respite from the oppressive heat.

The verdant Miramare Castle gardens provided a cool escape. Even amid the sweltering temperatures, Trieste’s charm and resilience prevailed, offering a delightful summer experience.
