Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony
On the evening of July 18, the Courtyard of the Militia within the Castle of San Giusto will resonate with the profound strains of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in D minor. This symphony, a cornerstone of classical music and a symbol of unity and brotherhood, will be performed by an illustrious ensemble. The lineup includes soprano Caterina Marchesini, mezzo-soprano Eleonora Filipponi, tenor Paolo Lardizzone, and bass Manuel Fuentes, with Maestro Paolo Longo leading the choir.
The Ninth Symphony is widely recognized not only in high culture but also in popular media, from Stanley Kubrick’s films to European celebrations where it serves as the official anthem.
