In a significant revitalization for this historic port city, the Luminosa, a cherished symbol of Trieste, was unveiled today in a new and modern form. The revamped structure, which has long held a special place in the hearts of Triestines, was celebrated in a ceremony attended by key local officials and residents.
Governor Massimiliano Fedriga of Friuli Venezia Giulia led the inauguration, highlighting the Luminosa’s importance as both an economic asset and a cornerstone of urban redevelopment. “The Luminosa is a symbol for Trieste that has always been particularly cherished by its citizens,” Fedriga remarked. “Its modernization is crucial as it returns to being a fully operational economic activity while contributing to the rejuvenation of a bustling area in the city center.”
The Luminosa, which historically served as a key landmark in Trieste, has undergone a comprehensive transformation, blending contemporary architecture with advanced technology. The newly updated structure features a striking six-meter-wide LED screen on Via Carducci, alongside interactive touch monitors designed to offer a range of public information and advertisements.
