A new photography contest, “The Time of a Photograph,” is inviting young artists to explore the concept of time through their lenses. Organized by the Municipality of Pordenone in collaboration with Somsi Aps and the Panorama Association of Pordenone, this competition aims to provide a unique platform for emerging photographers aged 15 to 30.
The deadline to submit entries is August 11, 2024, at 12:00 PM. Photographs will be evaluated by a panel of experts, including Giulia Lucchetta, Stefania Cuccarollo, Danilo Rommel, Stefano Maniero, and Leonardo Fabris. Selected works will be showcased from September 20, 2024, to December 8, 2024, at the Harry Bertoia Gallery in Pordenone. This exhibition, titled “Magnum on Set,” will run concurrently with a major showcase featuring the iconic Magnum Photos collection, spotlighting legends like Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliott Erwitt, and Dennis Stock.
The competition invites participants to capture the interplay between past, present, and future. Photographs should reveal contrasts, similarities, and connections across these temporal dimensions, reflecting diverse generational perspectives. Entries must be submitted via email to clicpordenone2024@gmail.com, using www.wetransfer.com. The submissions should be in JPEG format, high resolution (300 dpi), with a color profile of RGB, and dimensions of 30 x 45 cm.
In line with the contest’s strict guidelines, submissions should not include logos, signatures, watermarks, frames, or any recognizable marks. Photomontages, HDR, focus stacking, panoramas, and the use of artificial intelligence are not permitted. Each participant is allowed to submit one original photograph that adheres to the theme and maintains the dignity of the subjects portrayed.
The contest is open to amateur photographers only; professional photographers are excluded. Minors must secure parental or guardian consent to participate. There is no fee to enter.
