On Sunday, August 11, 2024, the picturesque town of Muggia will once again host the much-anticipated “Corte dei Miracoli,” a market that celebrates small antiques, modern collectibles, and artistic craft skills. Held in the charming Piazza della Repubblica and along Via Roma, this event promises to captivate both locals and visitors with its diverse array of treasures.
The “Corte dei Miracoli” is organized by the cultural association Cose di Vecchie Case, renowned for its commitment to preserving and showcasing historical artifacts and artisanal works. Established in 1998, the association marks its 25th anniversary this year and continues to draw a devoted following with its monthly markets.
Set against the backdrop of Muggia’s historic architecture, the market will run from 8 AM to sunset, offering free admission. Attendees can expect a vibrant display of items including vintage vinyl records, rare comics, miniatures, and other memorabilia. The event has become a beloved tradition, renowned for its ability to surprise and delight, whether one is a seasoned collector or a casual visitor.
Beyond the antiques, the market features a rich selection of artistic craftsmanship. Visitors can browse through beautifully crafted glassware, ceramics, wrought iron pieces, and hand-painted floral designs. Other highlights include Tiffany glass, artisanal soaps, and maritime-themed ceramics depicting scenic views of the Gulf.
The “Corte dei Miracoli” is not just a market; it’s a lively cultural experience. Each stall offers a window into the past, from antique photographs and gramophones to rare toy soldiers and vintage dolls. These items, sourced from attics and cellars throughout the region, are ready to find new life in the hands of collectors and enthusiasts.
In addition to antiques and crafts, the market showcases seasonal products, with this August’s theme focusing on summer-related items. The event continues to be a source of joy and discovery, providing an opportunity for visitors to find unique gifts or simply enjoy a different kind of Sunday.
With over 350 members, the association collaborates with numerous municipalities including Trieste, Duino-Aurisina, Muggia, and others. Its extensive experience in organizing both cultural and musical events enriches the local community and attracts a wide audience.
