In a weather forecast that has sent alarm bells ringing across the region, Friuli Venezia Giulia braces itself for an onslaught of rain and thunderstorms in the coming hours. The Civil Protection Authority has issued a stern warning, effective from today through 12 am on Thursday, August 8.

The looming threat stems from an Atlantic depression edging closer from the west, setting off a chain reaction of moist and volatile southern currents primed to sweep through the region all day Thursday. Anticipate a tumultuous night and morning, with showers, including potentially intense thunderstorms, forecasted, particularly in the flatlands of Pordenone, Udine, and the Carnic Prealps.

As daylight progresses, the showers are expected to taper off into sporadic bursts, only to regain momentum come late afternoon and into the night. Residents are cautioned to remain vigilant as localized, vigorous thunderstorms are predicted, posing heightened risks, particularly across the plains, coastal areas, and the Prealps.

Stay tuned for further updates as authorities monitor this developing weather situation closely, urging all residents to take necessary precautions and stay safe amidst the impending tempest.
