The city of Trieste has announced a series of temporary traffic measures to accommodate the Maker Faire Trieste 2024, a prominent technology and innovation event scheduled for August 31 to September 1, 2024. The restrictions are designed to facilitate smooth operations and ensure public safety during the event.
Key Traffic Changes:
- Restricted Parking and Towing: From 12:00 AM on Monday, August 26, until 12:00 AM on Friday, August 30, and again from 12:00 AM on Sunday, September 1, until 12:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, a no-parking and no-stopping zone with towing will be enforced. This applies to all vehicles in the loading and unloading area on Via dell’Orologio, in front of the Regional Government building.
- Event-Specific Restrictions: On August 31 and September 1, 2024, similar restrictions will be in effect in Piazzale Agostino Straulino – Nicolò Rode. The ban covers all vehicles along four rows of parking spaces, with specific exemptions for the fifth and sixth rows, which are reserved for cars and motorcycles facing Riva Tommaso Gulli.
- Emergency Vehicle Exemptions: There will be allowances for emergency service vehicles, law enforcement, and vehicles authorized by the event organizers.
- Additional No-Parking Zones: Parking restrictions will also be enforced on Via Della Muda Vecchia and Via Malcanton from 12:00 AM on August 31 to 12:00 AM on September 1, 2024. This includes a 60-meter stretch of Via Della Muda Vecchia between Via Del Teatro Romano and Piazza Piccola, and a 55-meter stretch of Via Malcanton between Largo dei Granatieri and Via Del Teatro Romano. Exemptions apply to emergency services and authorized vehicles.
Vehicles found in violation of these restrictions will be subject to removal by authorities.
The city has advised residents and visitors to be aware of these temporary changes and to follow any additional instructions provided by local law enforcement or event organizers. The restrictions aim to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and safely, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
