On September 7, the picturesque town of Muggia will transform into a vibrant hub of athletic activity, as it hosts the annual “Invito allo Sport,” a free sports festival designed to engage children and teenagers in a range of physical activities. The event, taking place from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM in Piazza Marconi, is expected to attract young participants eager to explore different sports, all facilitated by local sports clubs and associations.

Organized by the Municipality of Muggia in collaboration with Pro Loco and Sport&Salute, “Invito allo Sport” aims to provide an inclusive platform for youngsters aged 4 to 13 to experience a variety of sports in a single location. The event will see representatives from numerous local organizations setting up interactive booths, complete with instructors and equipment, to showcase their respective sports.

Among the participating organizations are Asd Evinrude Muggia, which will be presenting athletics; Asd Interclub Muggia for basketball; Asd Carso Muggia for artistic gymnastics; and Polisportiva Muggia 90 for dance. Tennis enthusiasts can look forward to demonstrations from Asd Tennis Club Borgolauro, while other sports include judo from Asd Accademia Muggia, soccer from Asd Muggia 1967, karate from Asd Karate Katama, and rowing from Società Nautica Pullino. Additionally, the event will feature Accademia Danze Trieste for dance, ASD Life Academy Hadria Nuoto for swimming, and sailing activities hosted by Circolo della Vela di Muggia and Sailinglab Asd.

Councillors Alessandra Orlando and Gianna Birnberg have played a pivotal role in the event’s development over recent years, ensuring its continued success and growth. Their dedication reflects a broader commitment to fostering community engagement and promoting healthy lifestyles among youth.

Participants will be provided with a tracking card to document their involvement in various sports. Those who successfully try all the sports available will be rewarded with a complimentary ice cream, courtesy of Gelateria Jimmy, adding a sweet incentive to the day’s activities.

No prior registration is required; attendees can simply arrive at the registration stand, situated in front of the Municipality in Piazza Marconi, 30 minutes before the event begins. Comfortable clothing and sports shoes are advised to fully enjoy the day’s offerings.
