Miramare has experienced a summer surge, with August setting new records for visitor numbers. The Miramare Museum saw nearly 50,000 admissions last month (49,997 to be exact), while the Historical Park recorded 120,032 entries.
A comprehensive review of visitor data from May through August 2024 reveals that the Museum sold 154,073 tickets, and the Historical Park saw 437,666 digital entries. Cumulatively, from January to the end of August, the Castle has welcomed 280,211 visitors, and the Historical Park has attracted 756,128 guests. Compared to 2023, Museum visits have increased by nearly 10%, and there’s been a 21% rise compared to 2019, which was the peak year before the COVID-19 pandemic. The Park has also seen a daily influx of thousands, maintaining a consistent positive trend.
Andreina Contessa, Director of the Museum, expressed her pride in these figures, stating, “These numbers make us particularly proud because the Miramare area confirms itself as an important cultural and tourist attraction for the region.” The data indicates a long-term trend of visitors arriving from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, followed by Slovenia and Croatia. Notably, August saw a substantial increase in visitors from Poland and Hungary.
