The regional weather agency, ARPA FVG, has issued a warning for Tuesday and Wednesday, predicting moderate to strong Bora winds, especially in coastal cities like Trieste and the Karst plateau, where gusts could reach significant intensities.
According to ARPA FVG’s report issued on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday will begin with relatively calm conditions. “In the morning, the sky will be slightly cloudy,” the forecast noted, “but cloud cover will increase progressively throughout the day.”
While the Bora winds will be moderate inland, the coastal regions can expect a more severe impact, with strong gusts likely to cause disruptions. Higher altitudes will also experience sustained winds from the northeast, contributing to challenging conditions for anyone venturing into the mountains.
Italy Under a Lingering Depression
The region is currently under the influence of a depression system, which is drawing in easterly winds carrying moisture. These conditions are expected to last until Thursday. The wet and unstable weather system, affecting much of northern Italy, will likely lead to sporadic showers and increased cloud cover in the coming days.
However, forecasters are cautiously optimistic about a change in weather patterns later in the week. “By the weekend, an anticyclonic ridge will begin to consolidate,” ARPA FVG stated, referring to a high-pressure system that promises more stable and dry conditions over the weekend.
