The city of Trieste is gearing up to welcome athletes from across the globe for the second edition of the “Pressure Poleographic Contest & Battle,” an international pole dance competition that promises to combine athleticism, artistry, and fierce competition. Scheduled for Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, at the Palachiarbola Sports Arena, the event is set to attract 400 competitors from Europe, the Americas, Japan, and the Middle East.

Presented on Monday at Trieste’s Sala Giunta, the announcement was led by Elisa Lodi, City Councilor for Real Estate Heritage and Sports Policies, alongside event organizers Valentina Limpido, Noemi Gaggi, and Caterina Cigui.

A City with a Sports Vision

Councilor Lodi emphasized the importance of sports in Trieste, which she described as a city with a “strong sporting vocation.” She added, “Our city is proud to host events like these, which attract national and international attention. Sports are not just about competition, but about values and education, particularly for our young people.” The municipality, underlining its commitment to promoting diverse forms of athleticism, is supporting the event, which is organized by the local group House of Aerialist.

A Global Gathering of Pole Dance Talent

The “Pressure Poleographic Contest & Battle” represents a unique blend of choreography and freestyle competition, drawing top athletes and judges from around the world. The competition will feature two main formats: a choreographic contest on stage with seven poles and a freestyle one-on-one battle, with live DJs heightening the atmosphere.

The event aims to showcase pole dance not only as an artistic discipline but also as a demanding sport. Over two days, athletes will perform in front of a qualified international jury, competing for scholarships, sponsor prizes, and special recognition.

The Numbers Behind the Event

The competition’s scope is impressive, with around 400 athletes expected to descend on Trieste. Among them are world-class performers who have excelled in the growing sport of pole dance. The event will also host judges and experts, underscoring the international nature of the competition.

The contest, open to the public, is expected to draw significant local and international attention. Tickets will be available at the door, offering audiences a front-row seat to witness some of the sport’s brightest stars in action.

A Weekend of Performances and Masterclasses

The event will kick off on Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 PM with performances in two categories: beginner and open. Competitors, in solos, duos, small groups, and large groups, will take to the stage, with the day’s events running until around 10:00 PM.

On Sunday, September 22, the spotlight will turn to the experts, as international judges lead masterclasses from 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM. The final round of the competition will then begin at 3:30 PM, culminating in the much-anticipated “Grand Finale.” After the contest winners are crowned, the event will take a dramatic turn: five of the seven poles will be removed, and the stage will transform into an arena for the freestyle one-on-one battle. The electrifying conclusion, set to live DJ music, will run until 7:30 PM, when the winners will be honored in a closing awards ceremony.
