In a gripping display of maritime prowess, Arca SGR emerged victorious in the 56th edition of the Barcolana, one of the world’s largest and most celebrated sailing regattas, held annually in the Gulf of Trieste.
Skippered by Furio Benussi, Arca SGR crossed the finish line in just 1 hour, 28 minutes, and 14 seconds, edging out a competitive field of sailors and securing their place in the annals of Barcolana history.
Prosecco DOC Shockwave 3, another favorite going into the race, finished a close second, clocking in at 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 27 seconds. The battle between the two boats provided the highlight of the day, as they sped neck-and-neck through the Gulf’s famous winds before Arca SGR pulled ahead in the final stretch.
Fiamme Gialle Nice secured third place with a time of 1 hour, 37 minutes, and 55 seconds, rounding out the podium in a race marked by high winds and intense competition.
The Barcolana, which first launched in 1969, continues to draw thousands of spectators and participants each year. This year’s edition saw a strong field of competitors, reaffirming its status as one of the most thrilling spectacles in international sailing.
As Trieste’s historic event wraps up for another year, the stunning performance of Arca SGR, along with the tight finish at the top, ensures that the 56th Barcolana will be remembered as one of the most competitive in recent memory.
