In a move to modernize its facilities, Poste Italiane has announced that two of its post offices in Trieste will temporarily close for scheduled technical work starting Monday, November 11. The closures, affecting the Trieste 7 Post Office on Via Guglielmo Marconi 6 and the Trieste 20 Post Office on Via Louis Pasteur 41/A, are part of an infrastructure improvement initiative aimed at enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.

The closures will require customers of the affected branches to rely on nearby post offices for both postal and financial services, including the collection of registered mail. Poste Italiane has designated the Trieste 21 branch on Via Santa Caterina da Siena 1/A to handle clients from the Trieste 7 Post Office. To accommodate the increased demand, the Trieste 21 branch will extend its hours, opening from 8:20 a.m. to 7:05 p.m. during the renovation period. Meanwhile, customers who typically use the Trieste 20 branch are advised to visit the Trieste 4 branch on Via delle Settefontane 67.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 8, the Trieste Central Post Office at Piazza Vittorio Veneto 1 will also see a temporary adjustment in its schedule, opening later than usual at 1:50 p.m. and closing at 7:05 p.m. Regular hours are expected to resume immediately following this one-day change.

According to Poste Italiane, the improvements are expected to be completed by the end of November, with both the Trieste 7 and Trieste 20 branches reopening to the public once the upgrades are finalized. The company has emphasized that these updates are part of a broader effort to streamline services and improve the postal experience for customers.

As Poste Italiane modernizes its facilities, some local residents have raised concerns about accessibility during the renovation period. “I hope the extended hours at the other branches will be enough to handle the extra flow of people,” commented Mario Rossi, a longtime Trieste resident who frequently uses the Trieste 7 branch. “People rely on these services every day, especially the elderly who may find it hard to travel across town.”

With postal services undergoing transformations across Europe, many see the temporary inconvenience as part of a necessary evolution to adapt to changing customer needs in the digital era.
