Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost carrier, has announced a new route connecting Trieste and Prague, Czech Republic, set to launch on March 30, 2025. The service, which will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, marks the 27th destination in Trieste Airport’s growing network for the summer of 2025.
This direct connection between the northeastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Czech capital further underscores Ryanair’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Europe. Tickets for the route are already on sale through the airline’s website and mobile app.
Expanding Horizons in Trieste
With the addition of the Trieste-Prague route, Trieste Airport now boasts 17 international destinations, including Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Rotterdam (Transavia), and Bucharest and Tirana (WizzAir). Of these, 13 are operated by Ryanair, including popular cities like Barcelona, Berlin, London, and Paris.
Trieste Airport’s summer 2025 schedule also features five new routes: Rotterdam, Stockholm, Prague, Bucharest, and Lamezia Terme, reflecting a strategic push to enhance connectivity for both leisure and business travelers.
A Strategic Move
Prague, renowned for its rich history and cultural heritage, has long been a sought-after destination for Italian tourists, while Friuli Venezia Giulia offers visitors from the Czech Republic a gateway to Italy’s stunning Adriatic coastline and alpine landscapes.
This new route aligns with Ryanair’s broader strategy to strengthen regional hubs and connect mid-sized European cities directly, bypassing the need for connections through major international airports.
With its low fares and growing network, Ryanair continues to shape travel trends across Europe, providing an affordable alternative for travelers eager to explore the continent.
Tickets for the Trieste-Prague route, as well as Ryanair’s other destinations, can be purchased at ryanair.com or via the Ryanair app.
