Mild Earthquake Strikes Near Italian-Slovenian Border

A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 was recorded near Grgar, a small village in Slovenia, approximately 11 kilometers east-northeast of the Italian border.

The tremor, which struck at a depth of 15.4 kilometers, was reported by the Civil Protection Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy’s northeastern region bordering Slovenia. No damage or injuries have been reported so far, though the quake was noted by residents in the surrounding areas.

The region, known for its proximity to geological fault lines, experiences occasional seismic activity. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, though events of this magnitude are generally considered low risk.
