On Thursday, November 21, Gabriele Salvatores’ Napoli-New York premiered at the Giotto Cinema in Trieste. The film, inspired by a story from Federico Fellini and Tullio Pinelli, released in theaters across Italy yesterday.

Filmed largely in Trieste, the production marks Salvatores’ sixth project in Friuli Venezia Giulia, supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission. Key locations like Palazzo Carciotti and Porto Vecchio doubled as mid-century New York.

Starring Pierfrancesco Favino, Anna Ammirati, and an international cast, the film tells the story of two children navigating a clandestine postwar journey to America. Salvatores will present the film in Udine on November 30 and Trieste on December 1.
