A new plan to manage Trieste’s public green spaces aims to involve local organizations, businesses, and community groups in their care and maintenance. Announced on Thursday, the initiative seeks to ensure the upkeep of the city’s parks and green areas while promoting shared responsibility.
Under the plan, public green spaces will be entrusted to third parties through agreements with the city. This approach is intended to enhance maintenance efficiency and foster a stronger connection between the community and these spaces. “This initiative is about creating partnerships that ensure our green areas are preserved and thrive as spaces for everyone to enjoy,” said Michele Babuder, Municipal Councilor for Territorial Policies.
The program also aligns with goals to improve urban biodiversity and mitigate heat in built-up areas. Specific details about the implementation process, including potential partners and agreements, are expected to be released soon.
