On December 14, 2024, the Teatro Verdi Trieste will host the fourth edition of On the Notes of a Dream, a benefit gala blending opera, classical music, and tango to raise funds for cancer and hematological research. The event is organized by the Cielo Aperto Committee, in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste and the Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi Trieste.
The evening will feature the New Era String Quartet, performing classic renditions of Queen’s greatest hits, and a tango performance by Argentine star Miguel Angel Zotto and Daiana Guspero. Conductor Ayrton Desimpelaere will lead the Orchestra of the Fondazione Teatro Verdi Trieste in a program of works by composers including Vivaldi, Puccini, and Verdi. Opera performances by soprano Maria Cristina Napoli and tenor Max Jota will also be featured.
Proceeds from the gala will support cancer research at the Maggiore Hospital of Trieste and scholarships for young musicians at the Tartini Conservatory. Tickets range from 30 to 50 euros and are available at the Teatro Verdi box office.
