In a gesture of solidarity with the Friuli Venezia Giulia community, Coop Alleanza 3.0 has donated €20,000 to support cancer research, prevention, and treatment. The funds were split between two key healthcare institutions in the region: €10,000 each to the Burlo Garofolo maternal and child health institute in Trieste and the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico (CRO) in Aviano.
The donation came from the cooperative’s members, who contributed loyalty points, which were converted into monetary donations. More than 132,000 members participated in this initiative, with funds specifically allocated to cancer prevention and tumor research projects.
Speaking at a press event in Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor Massimiliano Fedriga praised the initiative, emphasizing its alignment with regional goals for improving healthcare sustainability and advancing cancer research. “It’s essential to reduce chronic care demands and use new technologies to prevent and manage diseases,” Fedriga said.
The donation also highlights the growing role of Coop Alleanza 3.0 in supporting public health initiatives across Italy, contributing to the broader effort to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality.
