The “A Light Always On” series offers a diverse lineup of performances, concerts, and celebrations, promising to engage audiences with music, theater, and community spirit. The events, held in the historic Luttazzi Hall, are set to showcase the region’s rich artistic heritage while fostering multicultural and intergenerational connections.

Monday, December 16: A Theatrical Journey Through Time

The week opens with “Quel che resta: The Final Act of the City That No Longer Exists” at 5:30 PM. This theatrical and musical performance, organized by Associazione Rena Vecia, delves into the lives of the “gente de Rena” — the people of Rena — in bygone days. Combining song and storytelling, the event promises to transport the audience to a vanished Trieste. Admission is free.

Tuesday, December 17: A Celebration of Young Talent

At 6:00 PM, the Carducci-Dante Musical High School presents its annual Christmas Concert. The performance highlights the school’s top musical talents, offering a repertoire designed to enchant audiences of all ages. Admission is free.

Wednesday, December 18: The Spirit of Christmas Unites Cultures

“La Sol(a) via del Natale” (The Sole Path of Christmas) begins at 8:00 PM. This unique concert aims to promote multiculturalism and solidarity through music and art. Featuring choirs from Trieste and beyond, the event includes interactive elements that transform the audience from passive listeners into active participants. Promoted by the Accademia Lirica Santa Croce, admission is free.

Thursday, December 19: A Musical Journey Across Italy

At 8:30 PM, the Associazione Dedalo Aps presents “Assaje, e po’ bon!”, a musical tribute to the popular songs of Trieste and Naples. Performers Raffaele Sincovich, Alessandra Esposito, and Sara Cechet Woodcock will be joined by local choirs for this lively celebration of regional traditions. Tickets are available for purchase.

Friday, December 20: Nostalgia in Song

The series concludes with two notable events. At 11:00 AM, the Nuova Orchestra da Camera Ferruccio Busoni presents “Classical and Romantic,” a concert dedicated to Aldo Belli as part of the 24th International Morning Music Series. Tickets are required for this event.

Later, at 5:00 PM, the Trieste Trasporti Youth Athletics Club hosts its 2024 Sports Awards Ceremony and 40th Anniversary Celebration. This community-focused event highlights the achievements of young athletes and the dedication of their families and mentors. Admission is free.
