The Municipality of Trieste has announced plans for a grand public celebration to ring in the New Year with a music and fireworks display in the iconic Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia. The festivities, scheduled for the evening of December 31, 2024, will include traffic and parking restrictions to ensure public safety and smooth operations.
The measures, enacted under Ordinance No. 1263-24, will affect key areas of the city starting as early as December 27. Residents and visitors are advised to plan accordingly as the city transforms its heart into a festive gathering space.

Vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions will be removed by authorities.
Road Closures
On the evening of the main event, from 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, to 2:00 AM on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, vehicular traffic will be prohibited along the Rive in both directions. The affected stretches include:

Pedestrian Access
To accommodate the event’s security protocols, pedestrian access to Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia will be restricted from 8:00 PM on December 31, 2024, until the completion of post-event cleanup operations. Entry will only be allowed through monitored access points located at:
