With a blanket of fresh snow gracing the mountains, Friuli Venezia Giulia’s six ski resorts are poised to welcome enthusiasts for a festive season on the slopes. Recent snowfalls, delivering up to 40-50 centimeters in higher altitudes such as Tarvisio and Sella Nevea, have ensured most trails and lifts are operational, offering idyllic conditions and postcard-perfect vistas for holiday revelers.

A Season of Snow and Celebration

Skiers and snowboarders can expect an expanded network of slopes managed by PromoTurismoFVG. The new snow not only enhances the skiable terrain but also sets the stage for unforgettable holiday moments in the region’s picturesque mountain landscapes.

What’s Open

  • Piancavallo: Starting Christmas Eve, all but one lift (Tremol 2) will be operational. Highlights include beginner areas, the Casere and Busa Grande chairlifts, and trails like Sauc Alto and Nazionale Bassa. Nevelandia, a family-friendly snow park, is open, along with a 1-kilometer cross-country loop at Pian Mazzega and a weekend bobsled track.
  • Sappada: The Pian dei Nidi and Monte Siera chairlifts are open, offering trails like Nazionale and Turistica. Nevelandia and a portion of the Campioni cross-country trail (5.5 km) will welcome visitors from December 25.
  • Forni Avoltri & Forni di Sopra: At Forni Avoltri, 3 kilometers of cross-country trails are accessible. Forni di Sopra offers open chairlifts, beginner areas, and 2.5 kilometers of the Tagliamento cross-country trail. Additional attractions include the Fantasy Park and an ice rink.
  • Sauris: Following its December 21 opening, Sauris will expand offerings on December 26 with the Richelan lift and its namesake trail.
  • Ravascletto/Zoncolan: Multiple chairlifts, including Monte Zoncolan, are operational. New trails and lifts, such as Arvenis, will open on December 26.
  • Tarvisio: With most trails and lifts open, including the upper Di Prampero run, Tarvisio will launch night skiing on December 27. Pedestrians and skiers alike can enjoy the Lussari gondola.
