The “Scherzi Armonici” choir, directed by Giulia Fonzari, will present a special concert on Thursday, January 2, at 5:00 PM in the Duomo of Muggia. Organized by the Serenade Ensemble Association, the event marks the opening of the 2025 concert season and continues the region’s holiday celebrations.

The program includes notable Baroque and traditional European Christmas compositions, featuring Telemann’s Suite for two horns and continuo, Gabrieli’s Sonata No. 1 for cello, and selections from Schubert’s Deutsche Messe. Mendelssohn’s “Hark the Herald Angels” and the traditional Italian piece “Noi semo i tre re” will also be performed.

The choir will be joined by Emanuele Golfetto on keyboards, horn players Luka Grego and Andrea Sfetez, and cellist Clara Di Giusto, a recent graduate and emerging soloist. The group, based in Trieste, has performed across the region under Fonzari’s leadership, including for the “European Day of Early Music.”

Founded by Roberta Vlahov, the Serenade Ensemble Association aims to bring music to diverse audiences throughout the year. “During the holidays, we are especially committed to sharing a musical embrace with the community,” Vlahov said.

Admission to the concert is free.
