A severe weather system is set to disrupt the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, bringing heavy rains, high winds, and rough seas to both the coast and the plains.
Meteorologists forecast overcast skies for Tuesday, with moderate, intermittent rainfall along the Adriatic coastline. Despite occasional breaks in the clouds, strong to gale-force Scirocco winds will batter the region, prompting warnings of rough seas between Lignano and Grado. Coastal residents have also been cautioned about the possibility of acqua alta, or high water, especially in low-lying areas.
Inland, conditions are expected to be equally severe. The plains will see heavy to intense rainfall, accompanied by sustained southerly winds, which could lead to localized flooding and travel disruptions.
Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant, avoid coastal areas, and secure outdoor furniture and structures against the wind. Mariners have been advised to take extra precautions or delay trips until conditions improve.
