Valerio, a native of Verona, participated in the selection process for personal reasons and his longstanding connection to the city. While his appointment has been announced, the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia emphasized that logistical and contractual details still need to be ironed out before any official handover can take place.

“The selection carried out by the Municipality of Verona must necessarily be followed by evaluations and agreements regarding the potential acceptance of the role, as well as the terms and timing of the transition,” said Francesco Granbassi, president of the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia, in a statement.

Neither Valerio nor Granbassi has provided further details on when a formal decision might be made, stressing the importance of ensuring proper communication with all institutions and individuals involved.

Valerio, a respected figure in Italian theater, has led the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia through a dynamic period, bringing a mix of contemporary and classical productions to the stage. His potential move to Verona signals a homecoming of sorts, but the timeline remains unclear.

As discussions continue, both the Teatro Stabile and Verona’s municipal authorities have refrained from making additional public statements, leaving questions about the transition unanswered for now.
