The historic Italian Navy training ship Amerigo Vespucci is set to arrive in Trieste from February 28 to March 2 as part of its Italian tour, accompanied by the Villaggio Italia exhibition. In conjunction with the event, the Municipality of Trieste has announced a series of temporary traffic suspensions across key areas of the city. The measures, outlined in Ordinance No. 196-25, will coincide with performances by the Fanfare of the Carabinieri’s 4th Mounted Regiment.

Friday, February 28
Traffic restrictions will be in place at various times throughout the day, starting at 9:00 a.m., when police will enforce temporary suspensions along Corso Cavour, Piazza L. A. Duca degli Abruzzi, and the Riva waterfront, including Riva Tre Novembre, Riva Caduti per l’Italianità di Trieste, and Riva del Mandracchio. A second suspension will occur between 10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., affecting a similar route.

Saturday, March 1
The Amerigo Vespucci will serve as the backdrop for a performance by the Carabinieri Fanfare, triggering additional traffic restrictions. From 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., police will halt vehicle circulation along Corso Cavour and the Riva waterfront, extending to Piazzale Marinai d’Italia at Molo dei Bersaglieri. A further suspension is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Sunday, March 2
The final day of the event will begin with a solemn flag-raising ceremony and concert in Piazza Unità d’Italia, requiring road closures from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The most extensive disruption is expected between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., affecting key roads leading to the city’s waterfront.

Authorities have emphasized that these measures are subject to change based on security and operational needs. Law enforcement and local police will monitor the situation and implement further adjustments if necessary.
