A book signing event with a twist will take place at Libreria Ubik in Galleria Tergesteo on Saturday, March 8, at 11:30 a.m. Author Jasmine Leigh Quan will be joined by an unusual co-host—her cat, Gigia—as they meet readers and sign copies of Quan’s book, Il dono di Gigia (Accornero).

Later that evening, at 5:30 p.m., the book will be formally presented at Coin in Corso Italia. The event will feature an introduction by art critic Fabio Lamacchia and readings by editor Claudia Frezza.

Quan, who previously worked in the fashion industry, left that world behind to focus on wildlife conservation. She is the founder of the South China Tiger Project, an initiative aimed at preserving the endangered species. Her deep understanding of feline behavior has also allowed her to train Gigia in an array of impressive acrobatic feats.

Il dono di Gigia explores the profound bond between a woman and her cat, illustrating how such a connection can shape and transform a life. “Gigia has taught me the value of small acts of kindness, turning each day into an opportunity for growth,” said Quan. “The challenges of the past have made me stronger, and with her by my side, I face the future with courage. Gigia is not just a cat—she is my confidante, my healer, and an irreplaceable companion.”

The book signing event at Libreria Ubik and the evening presentation at Coin offer a chance for readers to engage with the author—and her feline muse—while celebrating a story of companionship and resilience.
