A highly sought-after piece of waterfront real estate in the heart of Muggia is now up for auction, with the deadline for offers rapidly approaching. The red building, located at Riva de Amicis and spanning three levels, offers an unobstructed view of the Mandracchio and is considered one of the town’s most coveted properties.
The property, which had been under review for several months, was recently declared eligible for sale after an administrative process concluded in the past few months. It is now open for bids through the E-Appli portal, a digital platform where prospective buyers can register and submit offers.
All information about the building, including detailed plans and photos, is available on the official website of the Municipality of Muggia. The final deadline for bid submissions is noon on March 14.
Andrea Mariucci, Muggia’s Municipal Councillor for Finance, expressed optimism about the property’s prospects. “So far, we’ve received an excellent response in terms of site visit requests, particularly because the location is so beautiful and central,” Mariucci said. “We want to remind everyone that there’s still time to submit their bids. Given the strong interest we’ve seen so far, I’m hopeful the property will find a buyer and be revitalized as part of a broader initiative by this administration to enhance and restore neglected or closed properties in the area.”
The sale of the building is part of Muggia’s ongoing efforts to improve and restore its public infrastructure, breathing new life into historic sites that have fallen into disrepair. If successful, the auction is expected to mark a significant moment in the town’s urban regeneration.
Local residents and business owners alike are watching the auction closely, as the property’s potential for redevelopment could be a game-changer for the town’s waterfront. With its prime location and proximity to the Mandracchio, one of Muggia’s most iconic spots, the building is seen as a valuable opportunity for investors and developers looking to tap into the region’s growing appeal.
The municipality’s focus on restoring underutilized properties is part of a broader regional initiative aimed at revitalizing historic buildings across Friuli Venezia Giulia. The results of this auction will likely set the tone for future real estate sales and redevelopment efforts in the area.
As the clock ticks down on the March 14 deadline, eyes are now on the bidding process to see who will seize this rare opportunity to own a piece of Muggia’s rich history.
