Under a bright spring sun, Trieste marked International Women’s Day with a citywide celebration. Museums opened their doors for free to women, while workshops, demonstrations, and cultural events filled the streets. Visitors from abroad joined locals in commemorating the occasion.

“It’s wonderful to see the city embrace this day so fully,” said Anna, a tourist from Germany.

In Piazza Unità, groups will march for gender equality later today, while others attended art exhibits and poetry readings. “Trieste has a special energy today,” noted Lucia, a student.
