On March 13, the LETS – Letteratura Trieste Museum will host a presentation of L’Ingombro, the latest novel by Italian author Laura Daniele. The event, part of the #LETStalk series, will take place at 6 p.m. in the museum’s Spazio Forum.
L’Ingombro, published by Affiori in February 2025, explores themes of justice, revenge and human nature. Set on June 2, nearly a decade ago, the novel opens with a body lying in an anonymous apartment. A woman, appearing indifferent yet resolute, stands over the scene. As the narrative unfolds, layers of suspicion, resentment and long-suppressed emotions surface.
Daniele will discuss her work in conversation with journalist Sara Del Sal and Riccardo Cepach, the curator of the LETS Museum. Admission is free, subject to venue capacity.
Originally from Trieste, Daniele has lived in Rome’s Trastevere district since 2000. A graduate in Foreign Languages and Literatures, she also holds a diploma in screenwriting. Her previous works include L’uomo dei binocoli, which was recognized at the Italo Calvino Prize and later won the Festival du Premier Roman in Chambéry, and Mentite spoglie, a short story collection published in 2023. Her writing has appeared in various literary anthologies and magazines, and she has won multiple literary awards. In 2017, her screenplay Paint was adapted into a short film that premiered at the ShorTS International Film Festival in Trieste.
The LETS Museum, dedicated to the literary history of Trieste, is located in Piazza Attilio Hortis. For additional details, the museum can be contacted at lets@comune.trieste.it or by phone at (+39) 040 6757240.
